Omodoki dolls are a particular style of what I'd define as "favourite character" dolls. These characters can be anything from anime characters to original characters to even K-Pop idols (you may even know these dolls as "K-Pop dolls" initially), and I would argue the main charm of these dolls is the customizability of the doll. Omodoki dolls typically are manufactured without clothes, so it's (usually) up to their owners to dress them up in whatever way they want, further encouraging the dress-up activity of owning one.
They are popular in 20cm form and 10cm form, but other sizes exist as well.
